2007 Rockpile Petite Sirah

My Petite Sirah is sourced from the Rockpile AVA in northern Sonoma County. Overlooking Lake Sonoma, this vineyard sits well above the fogline giving the Petite Sirah maximum sun exposure. The slightly cooler temperatures than the nearby Dry Creek Valley allow for longer hang time and fruit development.

As you swirl the wine, aromas of cinnamon, cloves, and Indian spices emanate from the glass. You may also notice your glass has been stained purple due to the inky purple color of this rich wine. The concentrated flavors of blackberry, black pepper, and cinnamon will please any wine drinker's palate.

91 points, Wine Enthusiast, "Captures the robust, fruity essence of Petite Sirah, in a balanced, richly tannic and ageworthy package. It’s completely dry, with complex waves of wild blueberries and blackberries, plums, mulberries, tobacco, leather, dark unsweetened chocolate and peppery spices. Good now, but will benefit from 6–10 years in the cellar."
